Our Artists are Awesome

We know this because you say so. And you made us realize that we don't just book awesome artists. We make awesome experiences. So this year, we're building on that, by maintaining all the things you love about Alverno Presents, but adding some new features to amp up the awesome factor. Things like: keeping the bar open before, during and after each show; hiring the music-loving folks at 91.7 FM WMSE to DJ pre- and post-show; heading out to some new venues that better suit some of this year's unique performers; and uniting the baffled and cognoscenti through the casual, conversational magic of Speakeasy.

Sound good? Then grab a drink. Make some new friends. And figure out how something that was already kind of amazing just got that much better.

Our good friends at 91.7 FM WMSE love music the way we love music. That's why this year, we're bringing them in to warm you up before the big show and to give you a reason to stick around long after.

The corner bar

And by "Corner" we mean "corner of our lobby." It’s still a bar, though, with all the classic bar staples. And we want you to enjoy it - before, during and after the show - while you're dancing to the DJ, moving along with the featured performer, or trying to figure out what you just saw in our brand new Speakeasy feature.

MEET SPEAKEASY

Curated by Tracy Stockwell, Assistant Professor of Professional Comunication, Speakeasy is a post-show casual conversation for audience members to talk about what they just experienced.

It's not easy to open up in front of the artist or director, so don't worry - they’re not invited. Just you, an Alverno Professor, a Milwaukee artist, and everyone who saw the performance.
